There is so much more in the four Gospels then what meets the natural eye. In fact they can not be fully understood without the Holy Spirit opening our spiritual eyes to all that is there for us to know. This is also very true of the Gospel of John. There are hidden truths about these last days that we are in, that the natural mind without the Holy Spirit will not and can not perceive. Numbers and days are of a great significance in scripture in that they often relate to end time events, even though they had a truth to convey at that time.
I will not go into detail about the fundamental principals that we have been familiar throughout the ages, that is salvation by faith in Jesus Christ, for Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. In the first chapter vs. 11 “He came to his own (Jews) but His own did not receive Him. Vs12: But as many as received Him (born again) to them He gave the power or right or privilege to become the sons of God.” This power, right, or privilege is not an automatic experience that happens at conversion, but now as a believer you have the right, and privilege to ask Jesus to baptize you with God’s Holy Spirit, and you shall receive power to become the sons of God. Luke 11:9 Jesus is teaching His disciples (believers) “Ask and it shall be given you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you, For EVERYONE that asks RECEIVES; and he that seeks FINDS, and to him who knocks it WILL be OPENED”. Vs. 13 “how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him.”
In chapter two we have the story of the first miracle preformed by Jesus in public. It is very significant that it was on the third day that He was attending this wedding in Cana of Galilee. He as the bridegroom will be at the wedding feast on the third day, (millennium) when the church (His bride the wise virgins) will be married to Him on the Day of Atonement as we enter into the third millennium. Two days (1st & 2nd millennium) have transpired and we are on the verge of entering into the third (millennium) day. When He is referring that His hour had not come, He could be referring to this last great wedding feast. Also there is probably some meaning about the six water pots, like it is six millenniums from the fall of Adam to the wedding feast of Christ and His bride the Church. Also wine represents the Holy Spirit and at this wedding the best wine is (out pouring of the Holy Spirit) left for the end time Church. “Greater works shall you do because I go to the Father.” John 14:12
When He cleansed the Temple and said “Take these things away! Do not make My Fathers house a house of merchandise.” The disciples remembered it being written, “Zeal for Your house has eaten Me up.” Christ's zeal for His Fathers house has not change over these past two millenniums. We the Church are the Fathers (Temple) house, and we have made it into a house of merchandise, instead of prayer. The Jews wanted to know what sign He could show to them for doing these things. Jesus said to them “Destroy this Temple and in three days I will raise it up.” Vs.5 The Jews of course thought in terms of building the structural time it took to build the temple it in the first place, but He was referring to the temple of His Body being raised up from the grave. Here again we have a two fold prophecy, the first was fulfilled at His resurrection after being in the grave three full nights and three full days which is 72 hrs, and not the 48 hours that most of the church believes in when they celebrate His death as happening on Friday. (See pamphlet Christ’s Crucifixion Week) The second phase of this prophecy is again going to be fulfilled as we enter into the third millennium after the marriage of Christ to the Bride. From Christ’s resurrection to the end of the third millennium is three days in which the manifested sons of God will restore the temple of God. Thus the five fold ministry will “Edify the body of Christ (the church) till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.” Eph. 4:12b&13 It is throughout the third day that the gospel of the kingdom of God will be preached to perfect the church and then the end will come where Christ will come for a church that is without spot or wrinkle or any such thing. Eph. 5:27.
Then in Chap. 3 we have a ruler of the Jews come to Jesus and in a round about way is inquiring about how Jesus can do these miracles unless God is with him. Jesus seems to ignore his approach and says to him “Most assuredly I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot SEE the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus questions this how is this possible? To be born again is to believe that Jesus the son of man has come to seek and to save the lost, that He died for our sins on the cross which was to be our punishment, and when we submit or acknowledge Christ, He breaths on us and we receive the Spirit of Christ. This is the new birth. At this point a person is saved from eternal condemnation and will see the kingdom of God. (John:3:3) To back this up look at Rom. 8:8-14 “So than those who are in the flesh (carnal) cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God ( Baptized in the Holy Spirit) dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, (born again) he is not His. And if Christ is in you the body is dead, because of sin, but your spirit is life because of (Christ’s) righteousness. BUT if the Spirit of Him (God’s Spirit) who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life (resurrection) to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. Therefore brethren, (this is to Christians) we are debtors not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. (being carnal) For if you live according to the flesh, you will die. (body will not be raised up) But if by the Spirit (God’s Spirit) you put to death the deeds of the body, (die to self, ego) you will live. (raised up at resurrection day) For as many as are lead by the Spirit of God these are the sons of God.”
Then in John 3: 5 Jesus again says to Nicodemus, Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Water speaks of cleansing (repenting, to receive forgiving) by the cleansing of the water of the word (Eph. 5:-26). Both John and Jesus were baptizing people that came to them in the land of Judea, for repentance onto salvation. It’s after the born again experience that Jesus baptizes us with God’s Holy Spirit. It is this baptism with the Holy Spirit that qualifies the believer to not only see, but also enter the kingdom of God. There is a kingdom of Heaven from where the kingdom of God can be seen and I believe that the Throne of God can also be seen from the kingdom of God. The Tabernacle in the wilderness was built by Moses after the instructions given to Moses by God according to a pattern in heaven. When the Israelites were in the outer court it was possible to see the Holy place. Only those that had sacrificed an animal to the Lord and had changed clothes and washed in the laver that was standing before the Holy Place could they enter into the Holy Place. From the Holy Place the Holy Of Holies could be seen, but only the High Priest could enter in once a year. (Christ our High priest has entered into the Holy of Holies once and for all, removing the partition ( the Curtain was torn from top to bottom) for all to enter in that qualify (overcomers). The third chapter ends with “He that believes on the Son has (spiritual) everlasting life. And he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.”
The Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:10&11 says, “That I might know Him, and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings being made conformable to unto His death; If by any means I might attain the resurrection of the dead.” He goes on to say that he has not yet attained or is perfect, but is striving to attain this status. This is remarkable that this great man of God who was chosen by God to reach the gentiles with the salvation message, is not sure (still striving) that he will be part of the resurrected saints. This tells me that none of us know whether we will be part of this resurrection at this time. Oh yes we are saved from eternal condemnation and will be in heaven, which is going to be glorious. However if we want to be part of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, to reign and rule in the thousand year reign with Christ, We must press towards this goal, to be part of what Paul refers to as to attaining “the resurrection of the dead”, which he claims to not have attained, at the time of his writing. It is only those that are part of the first resurrection through being martyred or died to the self life, (ego) that will rule and reign with Christ in the third millennium.
The second miracle that Jesus did was in the same country where the miracle of turning water into wine at a wedding took place. This was a healing of a noble man’s son who was near death, and Jesus told him to be on his way, your son lives. And the man believed and went on his way, and he was greeted by his servants proclaiming that his son liveth. John 4:47-51. Here we have a description of what to expect on the third day (millennium). There will be people saved through miracles preformed throughout this millennium, just as Jesus did during the three and a half years that He preformed miracles with signs and wanders, will also be preformed by the manifested sons of God, through the power that was infused into the bride by Christ through marriage that will bring the church into perfection.
In chapter seven the Jewish feast of Tabernacles was at hand, and his brothers who did not believe on him ridiculed him, and suggested that he go up to the feast and show himself to the world. He refused to listen to them telling them to go up to the feast, that His time had not yet come. And He stayed in Galilee. “But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.” John 7:10 The point I want to make is that just as the Feast of Tabernacles was the last feast in the year that the Jews celebrated. So also this last feast of Tabernacles at the end of this age that Christ must fulfill, just as He fulfilled Passover and Pentecost on the very days that the Jews kept them, so also He will fulfill this feast on the very day that the Jews celebrate this feast. It is very significant to notice that He went up as it were in secret, and then in the middle of the feast He went into the Temple and taught. There will be a secret appearing of Christ in His Temple (church) and half way through the feast He will reveal himself by an infusion of holiness an righteousness, to those that attain to this status. And it is at this time that Christ will infusing (teach) the sons of God with power and knowledge, that they will do the same works that Jesus did and greater works. John 14:12 “and greater works then these shall you do, because I go to the Father.” And Jesus said in Vs. 7:38 “He that believes on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.” This living water is a liquid anointing that Christ has infused into His sons and it shall flow from the manifested sons of God as they minister throughout the world to all nations and then shall the end of this age come.
